Bipap Machine

A Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machine is a mini respiratory ventilator used in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, pneumonia, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), neurological disease, and asthma flare-up causing poor breathing in adults, newborn infants (neonates), and critically-ill patients in hospitals.  

A BiPAP machine is a table-top unit that constitutes a motor, hose and a mask/nasal plug. It delivers a stream of compressed air through a hose to a face mask, nose mask, nasal pillow, or hybrid. It provides two pressure settings – inspiratory positive airway pressure (IPAP) and a lower expiratory positive airway pressure (EPAP) – for easier inhalation and exhalation. This means it uses different pressure levels for inhalation and exhalation process which differentiates BiPAP from CPAP, which has a constant level of airflow pressure.
